Ichiro Akuto resurrected his Grandfather’s distillery in the early 21st Century. Since then he has produced some of the most unique and coveted whiskies in Japan (look up his playing card series). He is known for both doing his own malts and whiskies from scratch, but also like a skilled coffee roaster, he takes whiskies from across the world and blends them in his own unique manner.
The Malt & Grain is definitely the latter. His own Malt with Scotch, Canadian, American and Irish whiskies.
