Coopetarrazu Co-op lies at the pulsing heart of the Tarrazu growing region and sees itself not as exploiting the land but as a part of it. The Coopetarrazu co-op belongs to the people and its community, and it has implemented a ‘Coffee, culture, quality of life’ sustainability plan to track environmental impacts, continually improve best practices, and foster a culture of ecological sustainability and respect amongst its members and their families. After all, coffee tends to be a multi-generational endeavour, with many coffee-farming family children likely to follow in their parents’ coffee-farming footsteps.
