A natural-process coffee from Dumerso in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, grown at 1,960 metres above sea level by smallholder farmers cultivating local landraces and JARC varieties. Coffee is central to the livelihoods of families in the region, making careful processing and fair pricing especially important.
Hirut and Mahder Berhanu have more than 20 years of coffee-producing experience. After acquiring the Dumerso washing station in 2010, they reopened it in 2013 to produce carefully processed, value-added coffees. In the cup, expect beautiful red berry acidity, a silky buttery mouthfeel, butterscotch sweetness and layers of stewed fruit.
