Ethiopian Harrar Coffee Heavy-bodied, spicy and fragrant, Ethiopian Harrar coffee is a wild and exotic dry processed (natural coffee that is grown on small farms in in southern Ethiopia at elevations between 4,500 and 6,300 feet. The province of Harrar, is east of Addis Ababa, the country’s capitol. About Harar Harar is an eastern city and the capital of the modern Harari in Ethiopia; For centuries, Harar has been a major commercial center, linked by the trade routes with the rest of Ethiopia, the entire Horn of Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and, through its ports, the outside world. Harar (or Harrar) coffee is grown in the region of Harar in the Eastern highlands of Ethiopia. It is one of the oldest coffee beans still produced with predominately heirloom wild varietals. Harar is a dry processed coffee bean, with sorting and processing done almost entirely by hand. The final product can often be very inconsistent in quality and roast profiles but good Harar beans produce a very flavorful cup and are known for their distinctive fruity, winey and full bodied flavours
